About Us

The Bark Collar Site is a specialised resource focused on barking behaviour, bark collar education, and responsible bark collar guidance.
We help dog owners understand how different bark collars work and how to choose the most appropriate option based on their dog’s size, temperament, and barking behaviour.
Our focus is intentionally narrow: we do not cover general pet products or unrelated training topics – only bark collar guidance and barking behaviour information.

Our recommendations are shaped by over 30 years of dog ownership experience.During this time, we have lived with and trained multiple dogs, including:

  • a German Shepherd
  • two Labrador Retrievers
  • and our current dog, Daisy, a Cockapoo (miniature Poodle × Cocker Spaniel cross)

Our experience with different breeds has shown us that barking behaviour, sensitivity, and training responses vary significantly from dog to dog.

While each dog presented different behavioural traits and training challenges, living with Daisy’s barking behaviour gave us first-hand experience of how disruptive excessive barking can become in everyday home life.

After dealing with neighbour complaints and formal local authority involvement, we began researching and testing different bark control approaches more seriously to better understand what works safely and effectively for real barking problems at home.Through this experience we came to understand that barking is not just a minor training issue – it can create stress for owners and become a genuine lifestyle, housing, and relationship challenge.

Living with Daisy’s excessive barking played a major role in shaping the practical, real-world approach behind this site.
